Sora got out of school and paddled out to the play island to visit his friend Riku. Riku, being somewhat other than human, did not go to school with Sora. He spent most of his days stretched out in the sun, coiled up on his very snake-like tail. He wasn't the only unusual creature on that island, but he was the only one Sora was friends with.
Today, Riku was hard to find. Usually he came down towards the beach in the late afternoons, knowing that Sora would be looking for him, but today he was nowhere to be seen. Sora moved up through the trees, dragging his heavy backpack along, calling his friend's name.
"Riku?" he shouted. "Hey, Riku?" After a long while and a good deal of climbing, he was finally answered by a long moan.
"Riku?" Sora pushed a large, tropical leaf out of the way, and finally found Riku, sprawled in a clearing.
The bulge in his tail was the size of a large boulder.
"Hi Sora," he gasped, before the end of his tail thumped the ground in a pouty, feeble gesture of irritation.
"What did you do?" Sora dropped his backpack and walked up to Riku's grotesque bulge. It was even larger up close, as high as Sora's chest, and if he'd laid down on the ground beside it, it would be even taller than he was. In spite of himself, Sora was both disgusted and amazed.
"How did you even swallow this much?" Riku moaned again, and let out an aggressive belch. His stomach shook and groaned, loudly enough to startle Sora into taking a step back.
"Dragon," he finally choked. "Dunno how. It was there, and I ate it." He burped again. "Everything hurts." From his human waist up, Riku lay flat on his back, his head tipped back. His silver hair was spread out in the dirt, and his chest rose and fell with heavy breaths. Sora had no idea that there were dragons living on this island, but he supposed he was safer if Riku had swallowed one.
Riku's stomach churned again, and he arched his back and groaned. His claws dug into the ground. Sora moved up to Riku's side and rested both his hands on his belly. He felt the movements inside, the powerful muscles expanding and contracting.
"This is ridiculous," Sora said quietly. He moved his hands along the bulge, feeling the shape of the dragon's head, wings, body, and legs. Sora got tummy aches, regularly, from small mistakes, like eating too many cookies. He couldn't even imagine what this would feel like.
"That feels good," Riku purred. His tail swished back and forth. Riku closed his eyes, and his belly quieted down to a low grumble. Sora had never seen Riku this swollen, and it unsettled him at first, but as he rubbed his hands along Riku's smooth, aching stomach, he found his movements relaxing to himself, as well. Riku's head tipped back further, his jaw dropped, and he let out another long, rumbling belch, finished with a high hiccup.
"You never told me how you did it," Sora laughed. Riku looked like a puppy getting its tummy scratched. His eyes were closed and he was panting for breath, with his tongue lolling out.
"I was hungry," Riku mumbled. Another hiccup popped out of his throat. "I saw him sleeping, you know? I was hungry, and I just grabbed him and started swallowing and didn't stop until he was all the way down." He belched. "Took all morning. And then he wouldn't stop wriggling around in there." Sora flinched at the thought of the creature thrashing around inside Riku's body, but the dragon was long dead. Now Riku's body was struggling- rather noisily- to digest it. It wasn't hard for Sora to imagine the acids and juices rolling around inside of him. He kept rubbing Riku's belly until the storm inside had all but quieted down. Riku's eyes stayed closed, and he made tiny, happy noises in his throat.
"Feel better?" Sora asked. Riku nodded sleepily. He stretched an arm behind his head and nuzzled his face into his shoulder. Sora went back to his backpack, pulled out his homework, and plopped down, resting against Riku's bloated tail. The movements of Riku's stomach were soothing to him.
"Sweet dreams, sleepy head," Sora whispered.
Riku was already snoring.
